Teething...a wonderful thing!

Ever since Kaitlyn was 5 months old she has been getting in new teeth every other day.  Okay, not really but she just cut her 7th tooth!  I can't wait until she has them all and we'll be out of this "phase" and onto our next.  She's just so miserable when these lovely pearls begin to appear and isn't her sweet self.  Now I must say to her defense she isn't miserable all day long (thank goodness!) but enough to drive her Mother insane :)

Now that we're onto our next tooth we decided to start trying some "real" food, ya know stuff that doesn't come in a jar!  So, we started with bananas...again.  Why do I do this?  We tried bananas in a jar first too and she broke out into a rash.  Not a good start.  She was very intrigued to grab the banana mess from her highchair top but once it got in her mouth that, "are you kidding me" face came out.  Too funny (for my sake!).  The next bite was the same thing and by they third try -- it was a no go.  It doesn't take her long to realize what she likes and what she doesn't.

And oh yes, while Mommy was away Daddy taught her to shake her head back and forth while he smiles and says, "no, no, no, no, no" in a cute sing-songish tone.  She has now started to do this constantly.........thanks Daddy!! :0)

So, the third time she pushed my hand away (another new thing she LOVES to do) and started saying, "no, no, no, no, no" with her head.  She thinks it's a fun game and waits to see if anyone is laughing and if so, does it again.  I swear she's going to be an actress someday!  Then the payoff will be HUGE -- just kidding!

Wish us well on our next few days of teething.  I'm glad I bought stock in Oragel today :0) ha ha ha ha ha

Gym Class

What wonderful weather we are finally having in Central Ohio!!! It was a beautiful 84 degrees today - an awesome day for gym class :) She was in such a good mood too since she had taken a 2 hour nap before leaving for class this morning...WhooHoo!!!
Here she is eating a toy ball (one of her favorites): The boy behind her is her friend, Tallon. He's 10 months old and is almost 30 pounds, yet the sweetest thing in the world!!!

It's bubble time...another favorite!

I know she looks a little terrified here, but honestly, she's really enjoying this -- I swear!!

So after gym class, we came home and had lunch then off for her afternoon nap. Little did I know, but she was tired! Almost 3 hours later -- Kaitlyn decided to make a brief appearance for dinner and some time with Daddy. Shortly after that - bedtime. What a life!!

Daddy Day Care

It's so nice to be home again with my family!  I was honored to be asked to be the Godmother of my nephew Alex, and he was being Christened yesterday.  So, I hopped on a plane at 7:45 am Sunday morning to fly into Chicago be there for his ceremony.  It was such a nice day and I was able to see the family too.  Just about 24 hours later I was on another plane heading home.  While I was gone, Brent got to spend the WHOLE day with Kaitlyn and the puppies...how fun!  They had a great time and even sent Mommy pictures to my cell phone with signs saying, "I love you and miss you Mommy!"  Too cute!  It was so hard to leave them all but so wonderful to return to a happy, smiling, giggling little girl (and husband!)

Kaitlyn and I will be going to gym class this week.  She loves watching the older kids and thinks they're so cool because they crawl and move around so much.  I hope to get a few cute pictures of her there and I'll post them soon.

Until next time --

Zoo Day

Last month we took Kaitlyn to the Columbus Zoo for the first time. She had a blast as did we. Her Grandma & Grandpa Gade were in town and able to enjoy this experience with us.

Here she is entering the zoo

With the polar bears...the real ones won't be there until next year

Wtih G&G visiting the kangaroos

Looking at the flamingos with Mommy & Daddy

We always have so much fun with her and look forward to doing many more things this summer and in the future. It was such a great time and we can't wait to go back :)

Mother's Day

What a wonderful day I had for my 1st Mother's Day!!! Kaitlyn the puppies and of course my amazing husband got me such wonderful presents for this special holiday. I got a fabulous "life bracelet" that has engraved charms on it for each one of our memorable milestones. I'll be able to add more charms to it as we go along too. So sweet! Here are a few pictures of me and my daughter on Mother's Day:

And, the BEST Mother's Day present ever was that Kaitlyn started to roll over!!! I'll post some pics soon.

Photo Shoot

Today started off really well and Kaitlyn even took a 2 hour nap this morning! How exciting :) Since she napped so well and she was in such a good mood, we were able to have a small photo shoot on the couch. Here are a few of pictures I was able to get from her:

She's so cute! She now has a total of 6 teeth...that's correct, 6! 4 teeth on the top and 2 on the bottom. She'll be 7 months on the 16th and can probably cut through a steak at this point. Ok, not really but sometimes it can feel that way for me when she tries to use me as a teething ring while she's nursing. We've started to learn the words "no biting" already :) I must say, she's picked that up pretty quickly.
After the morning photo shoot it was time for us to run some errands then get home to have lunch and nap...again! Oh how I LOVE a nap schedule. She seemed to be in an okay mood after this nap, however, it only lasted a short time. All of a sudden my child had taken on the personality of a Disney villian!! What happened to my sweet little girl?? It was like something came over her and she was laughing one second and crying the next. Oh my, oh my, it's so hard to be a baby these days.
Finally it was time for Daddy to come home. Yeah!! Maybe he can amuse our daughter as it seems she was obviously done looking at my mug :) Of course the minute he walks in, our sweet little girl appears - funny how that works!
A little more play time, dinner then off to bed.
Until next time...

Kaitlyn's Paige

Hi everyone!  We're attempting to get into the technology world and start a "Kaitlyn" blog.  This is only a temporary home for us while Daddy builds the real "Kaitlyn website"!! How exciting :)Don't you just LOVE the name?? Kaitlyn's Paige, ha ha ha.  Mommy thinks she's so clever!!  So, I'll be posting a few stories from Kaitlyn's days and some pictures as well.  We can't wait to get started and hope it's fun.

We're going to celebrate Mother's Day this weekend!  Don't know what is happening and I can't seem to get much more than baby talk out of Kaitlyn.  She's a good secret keeper, unlike her mother!!

Until next time --
